1. Is it alright to plan the potential for a notable personality change? In canon, memory tampering and dark energy make Ami into Dark Mercury. In this AU, this was never properly resolved (to say the least) thanks to events from her first game sending her world down a different path. I have the feeling her false Asphodel life may well revert her to her 'normal' personality until or unless she has enough pieces to recapture that.
2. Related to that, in canon, the second she has a sense things are wrong with her memories, she does everything she can to find the truth. I am not sure she would here. Matters got much, much worse, meaning she may well have a sense of something horrible lurking behind those closed memory doors. Is the switch in reaction alright as long as it's supported? (It also bolsters the your-Asphodel-life-is-suffering theme, as it leaves her with this nameless anxiety and fear hanging over her.)
3. Also, is there magic here? Couldn't find a specific mention of what happens regarding powers.

To answer questions 1 and 2, I don't see any problem with either twist. We're allowing aus and doubles in the game, so personality shifts are perfectly understandable as long as your AU or canon branch-off explains the changes.
As to question 3, there is technically magic in the game - but the regular characters can't use it, at least without earning it. It's just currently reserved to the world-machinator Inoue, as he morphs everyone into normal residents. But if enough pieces are found, the characters will be made aware that Inoue is open to making "deals" with the characters for just about anything, and by the time the characters have recovered six of their seven pieces, they would know they once knew things like magic.
That said, I've left it open because the deals will be very subjective, given both the characters' individual desires and what Inoue might want at that moment because of the current plot (and also to allow potential ways to outwit or try and fight against him). But if Ami wanted to trade for her magic powers back, that is absolutely possible. It would just come at a mutually player-arranged price, likely some sacrifice or service Inoue would require.

Should have seen version 2398230232.Awesome. I just like double checking. And really, that is the best answer for magic, for my thoughts with her. Because by the time she could, it'll be interesting to see whether she will try to make a deal and get power, or still be running away. /quietly makes something related to her transformation items be a late piece.
My overall picture of her Asophodel life is pretty much 'doctor, discontented since she did it due to mama's pressure here', since she was a bit conflicted about that anyway in canon. So the powers don't matter much in general, I was just curious.

Oh! And more questions.
How are previous games handled? Do you essentially have two sets of pieces to find for 'home' life and 'previous game' life? Or do some pieces relate to one, some to the other, until you get a whole?
Similarly, bonds. Could some potentially be from the game world CR if it was particularly close CR? (As long as any rp affects were agreed upon by both muns?)

I don't think they would affect the pieces in any sense, given they have individual rules of what each one will do, listed on the information thread.
I'm afraid I don't follow though in terms of the game world CR, though, unless you mean if the player of the other involved character applies as well. If two characters from the same game join this one with the history intact, that should be a recoverable memory. The actual CR shouldn't be mirrored over directly though, given they wouldn't remember their real selves upon admission.

And I don't know how to explain what I meant with the CR. I just noted on the Taken page, "bonds" listed significant CR. I wondered if that would all be from original home world, too.
/sorry I have so many questions and confusions >_

Thanks :)

If you think it'll work playing him without a voice, then that's what matters.

So sorry about that - assuming the student driver mod clicked the right things, it should be enabled for members now!

It's more a preference point, but I wouldn't want to make any player struggle to post because of it. That just ruins the fun.

--as an aside, and not to piggy-back on another thread, but I've been reading the first one on this post about CR and pieces and such, and I noticed the last set of questions were unanswered? I just want to say I echo the same sort of questions. :B

The quick answer is the pieces cover all of the character's memories from life - anything they would have known upon their death. If they died aware of events in another game, then those would be included.
Oh, and if the character died with amnesia of certain events, I would leave it to the player's discretion, whether they would be recollected or not.
