Your Own Little Drop of Hell

Even if this world is completely under the thumb of one man, don't worry - everyone gets a little say in where they live. Or at least, the players do!

As said in the Game Information section, while Asphodel is in truth a "game board" pre-made by Inoue, with set places for each area, the details of those areas are up to the players. If you have a specific vision of your muse's home, work place, favorite haunt, or otherwise, you can post a description here, and share the details. You can even post about your ideas for some public site or community center, and if it seems fitting it will be added, too!

The town itself is circular in nature, and strangely symmetrical in layout. Everything essential is in the center of town - the park in the middle, the hospital, school, banks, post office, and anything else you could think of that's part of a basic community. All of the regular businesses are on the surrounding streets, forming a circle around the town center. The private homes and regular residences can be found on the outskirts of those businesses, forming an outer rim bordered by the ocean, woods, cemetery, and roads out of town. Any additions you make to the town should fit into the appropriate area.

Just write up a short paragraph of the spot - with its location, if chosen, listed in the header - and wait to see your own part of Asphodel carved up and dropped on the board!

TOWN CENTER
Asphodel Hospital is a three-story building located close to Asphodel's city hall. It features a clinic, offices, and display areas on the first floor, general overnight rooms and surgery on the second, and more long-term patient quarters on the third. There is also a morgue in the basement, but it sees little use since bodies disappear after the victims die, the residents' deaths going unacknowledged by the town.

Asphodel Academy is the local school for students ages 6-18. The campus features an elementary, middle, and high school (6, 3, and 3 years respectively, with no kindergarten), all of which are equally boring. Starting in middle school, students can join a club or sports team - but no Asphodel team has ever won a championship.
attendees include:
elementary (male/female uniform): ---
middle (male/female uniform): Katsuko Sophia (year 3), Shimizu Nanase (year 2), Marie Angliere (year 3)
high (male/female uniform): Tsukishima Yuki (year 2)

BUSINESS CIRCUIT
B-to-Z Models is Inoue's studio and shop for his miniature model work. Dim in lighting, everything is covered in dark wood, from floors to walls to tables. Inoue keeps a sparse store front of just table after counter after surface of models, various fantastic and macabre designs intermixed. His shop is larger than it looks, since he only allows a small room for the store front. He gives little attention to local sales, since he ships most of his products out of town - or at least that's his claim. Most of his shop is devoted to a studio behind the scenes, where he can create. He also keeps an office, locked up tight, since he has hidden files in there that include information on all the residents, and Asphodel's own "board" under lock and key. He - like many store owners in town - keeps his residence upstairs, though his official home is filled with more miniatures.

The Cuckoo Call
clock shop is bright in coloring and flooring, but has irregular lighting, creating stark shadows throughout the shop. The room's filled with large cubed display boxes in black, dark blues, and warm yellows, stacked about in staggered rows with clocks perched on them, or mounted on their sides. The rest of the furniture includes glass display counters, with black stools behind the cashier and her work area. While the actual display area is clean, the owner Shiki has clock bits constantly strewn over the display tops. She lives in a loft upstairs, small and nondescript compared to the storefront.

Lily Garden
is a small restaurant/café that offers Asian-fusion cuisine and an exclusive dessert prepared by the bakery that's located beside it. Inside, the decor is warm with wooden floors and tables covered in white table cloths. Like its name implies, each table is decorated with a small bouquet of lilies and these bouquets can also be found throughout the café. The servers themselves are required to wear formal, black-and-white maid or butler uniforms, though they have the choice of in the length of their skirts and in which uniforms they wear regardless of gender/sex.

RESIDENT RING
The Shimizu Residence is a spacious two-story building, quaint in design. Looking like something designed for a dollhouse, its decor is Western-style with pale colors, white wood, and glass casing and shelving. Nanase's mother spends most of the day there, and keeps a sewing room, while her father has a home office for his business. Given the strain in the household, the family keep to their individual rooms most of the time. While Nanase stays about school as long as she can, she does enjoy the large aquarium of fish she has in her room.

Walkure's Home is a foster home/orphanage for minors (ages 17 & under) without guardians in Asphodel. It's a large, grey colonial-style house with multiple wings, but no one knows where the money to support its services comes from. Residents are provided with a place to sleep (four to a room in two sets of bunk beds) and three meals a day (though these are basic and bland). Ages 12-16 are encouraged to look after the younger children, and ages 16+ are encouraged to find part-time jobs in town.

The Cottages is a neighborhood of brick townhouses near the cemetery with shutters painted a variety of drab colors. These houses sport 2-3 bedrooms and are cozy, but cramped - spend too long indoors, and you want to go out; spend too much time outside, and you feel hemmed-in by your neighbors. The grounds are perfectly maintained, yet no one's ever seen a gardener and no plants ever reach full bloom.

CITY OUTSKIRTS
Lorelei's Surf n Turf is a port-side restaurant with a waterfront patio. The indoors deçor is dark, featuring polished wood everywhere and a karaoke stage in the corner; the karaoke machine is appropriately vintage '90s in both design and contents. Accordingly, the restaurant's best-known for its nightly karaoke hours (6-8 pm) and the large wall-mounted aquarium behind the bar, which contains a number of fish that should be impossible to keep in a tank (such as a pair of anglerfish). People who've regained three pieces may notice this discrepancy, but not before.
